King Tide, 2015. Overcast day, fishing and cricket. Ellie thinks the sand looks like runny concrete Playing on Wooli Wooli River, 2015 Banksia, 2015. River bank and sand Island, 2015. On another sunny day when the colour is extraordinary. King Tide II, 2015. Water spilled over the rocks and bank of the Wooli Wooli river onto the grassed areas | Mangroves by the Water, 2015, Incoming Tide, 2015 Seagull, 2015. It is more common to see pelican's sitting on the river channel poles, but this seagull was sitting on a branch in the water when I had my inks. Pop's kayak, 2015. We did not get a single crab but checked the pots daily in the kayak. Previous campers apparently got up to 40 crabs before Christmas. Kind of sad they were fished out like this....on principal we probably should not have had our pots out but crab tastes so good.....so we still tried. Bright Wooli Wooli, 2015. Very sunny day, the colours vibrant. The cycle of the tide that keeps everything moving and exposing the mangroves. The boats bobbing at the edge. |
We spent the week swimming, crabbing, fishing, eating, kayaking and canoeing, reading and sleeping. Limited phone coverage. There is a bowling club, a pub, a general store and a seafood store. This is my kind of town. I used ink on A3 Khadi paper 320gsm. We did visit Minnie Waters and Diggers Camp. So lucky to grow up where I did.

Holidaying back close to where I grew up. The most relaxed I have felt in a long time. Gorgeous place. These are a few images from on the Wooli Wooli river.
