The painting is not finished but this is where my shape for the encaustic originated.
I have used encaustic wax once before to coat the outside of a jug, but today I was shown how to layer it onto plywood. It was such a beautiful medium to work with. Warm, soft and a little unpredictable making it wonderful to experiment with. I cannot describe how much I enjoyed using this today. I had been playing with some imagery to develop a personal symbol for the water vessel and had the shape I used on my mind.
