With breast cancer in mind, I have decided to start with my Nana. I spent many hours in her house growing up. Her home represented her beautifully. My Nana made the most of any materials at hand and there seemed to be tea towels consistently through her house. She did the dishes with them, she wrapped her signature scones in them, she hung them on the wall and she even made pillows with them for the lounge chairs - well worn and faded with time but made of fine quality linen and soft with use. My dolls are shaped as babushka dolls - which represent tradition following a theme. The theme of breast cancer is not decreasing with time though, so neither are the size of the dolls. I also see the shape of the pins standing at the end of a bowling alley, unsure. Then my mother had a similar supply of well used tea towels but restricted to the cupboard and the kitchen. I have my supply as well I must say and these were some of them. |
